I can only say that I have only great thoughts about Tom Disch's story and Gahan's cover. They are at the top of writers and artists I dealt with during my time as editor or publisher. Tom's poem about the toaster still hangs above my toaster, even though I don't especially love the version I now own. It's sometimes too dark, sometimes too light...
